The first question to ask when trying to determine
what month is best to book a trip for fishing in Yakutat
is to decide exactly what kind of fish you want to catch*:
 

• Steelhead - April, May & Oct/Dec

• Sockeye - Late June through July

• Coho Salmon aka "Alaska Silvers" - August to October

• Pink Salmon - Late July through Early August

• Halibut - April through October

• King Salmon in the salt - April, May, June

• King Salmon in the river - Mid June through July

• Dollies - April through September

• Rainbows - April through June, September and October

• Cutthroat - June through September
